Carmichael Wright, 27, of the Bronx, and Tarita Banks, 55, of Milford, were arrested on Tuesday following the stop in the area of Naugatuck Avenue and Baldwin Street, the Milford Police said.
According to police, when stopped, Wright became combative with detectives before being taken into custody. During a search of the vehicle 100 grams of marijuana, pre-packaged for sale, and a quantity of money was uncovered, police said.
Wright and Banks, the passenger, were both arrested.
Wright was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, two counts of assault on a police officer, interfering with a police officer, conspiracy to commit possession of marijuana with intent, failure to drive right, and failure to obey officers signal. He is being held on $50,000 bond.
Banks was charged with interfering with a police officer and conspiracy to commit possession of marijuana with intent to sell. She was released on a promise to appear ticket.
